Real Talk: Adult Group Therapy
A weekly in-person therapy group for adults who want deeper connection, honest reflection, and real change—facilitated by Sean Noe, PhD & Bethany Ling, PsyD.
No pressure—this is simply a chance to ask questions and see if the group feels like a fit.
If any of this feels familiar, Real Talk may be right for you.
Many people come to group therapy because they’re tired of carrying everything alone—tired of overthinking, staying guarded, or feeling disconnected even when life “looks fine” from the outside.
Real Talk is for adults who want to grow in how they relate, communicate, feel, and show up—both with others and with themselves.
You might be a good fit if you…
-
Feel lonely or stuck, even when you’re functioning day-to-day
-
Notice repeating patterns in relationships (conflict, avoidance, people-pleasing, shutdown)
-
Want to be more emotionally open, grounded, and confident with others
-
Struggle to speak up, set boundaries, or feel truly known
-
Want something deeper than coping skills—something that actually changes how you live
Why group therapy works
Individual therapy is powerful. Group therapy adds something different: real-time connection with multiple people.
In a process group, you get the chance to notice your relational patterns as they happen—then experiment with new ways of speaking, feeling, and relating in a supportive environment. This is the kind of growth that often can’t happen alone.
Connection
Feel less alone—and more understood—through real relationships.
Practice
Try new ways of communicating with support and guidance.
Insight
Get honest feedback, reflection, and clarity that accelerates change.
At $60 per session, Real Talk is also a more accessible way to get consistent therapeutic support.
What Real Talk is like
Real Talk is a therapist-led adult process group. That means the focus isn’t on advice or quick fixes—it’s on helping you build a stronger relationship with yourself and others over time.
You’ll have space to bring what’s real: relationships, stress, grief, transitions, conflict, shame, anxiety, disconnection, identity—whatever feels most important.
This group is structured and guided, with attention to safety, pacing, and respect.
What this group is (and what it isn’t)
What it IS:
-
A weekly adult therapy group
-
In-person at our Vista office
-
A space for honest conversation, emotional growth, and meaningful change
-
Led by two Postdoctoral Fellows in Clinical Psychology
Under the supervision of licensed psychologists at Coastal Therapy Group. -
Supportive, structured, and grounded
What it’s NOT:
-
Not a class or lecture
-
Not forced sharing or “spotlight pressure”
-
Not a place where you have to be “good at therapy”
-
Not just advice-giving or surface-level discussion
Feeling nervous is completely normal
Most people feel some hesitation before their first group—especially if they’ve never done group therapy before.
If you’re worried you’ll say the wrong thing, feel awkward, or not know what to say, you’re not alone. You can start by listening, share at your own pace, and let trust build gradually.
-
You don’t have to share everything right away
-
You will never be forced to talk before you’re ready
-
The therapists help guide the process and keep the space respectful
-
Most people leave feeling relieved they came
