Dr. Chelsea Dudley

Licensed Psychologist | she/her/hers

I help adolescents and young adults work toward managing various difficulties in their lives, including working through trauma or grief. My approach to therapy involves helping clients identify sources of emotional pain, learn strategies to face and manage challenges, and uncover what brings joy.

   Chelsea Dudley, PsyD

Life is painful at times and everyone has moments when they do not know how to move forward. I believe that we all do our best to navigate the stresses of life, and sometimes in the journey we feel directionless, knocked down, or pulled between competing paths. It may be that something isn’t working, but you haven’t quite figured out what. Although feeling stuck can be scary or unsettling, you do not have to go through it alone. You might need someone to sit with you while sharing your pain. Or, you may feel ready to engage in rediscovering what brings you joy and meaning. I’m here to help facilitate that process through collaboration, support, and trust.

I strive to be trauma-informed and culturally sensitive in my therapeutic approach. My hope is to create a safe space for my clients to feel empowered to face and manage their suffering, learn what makes them resilient, and work toward what they value.

My clinical training has taken place in a variety of settings, including a university counseling center, children’s hospital, and community health center. These experiences have shaped my clinical interests in working with clients who are experiencing trauma and grief, and supporting adolescents and young adults as they figure out who they are and who they want to be. If you feel you may be a good fit, or are curious to learn more, I encourage you to reach out to schedule a consultation.

Trauma Doesn’t Just Stay In The Past

It isn’t just the painful moments in life that hurt us, it’s how we unintentionally carry their heavy weight with us. Research on trauma has identified that experiencing negative events in childhood increases risk for social, emotional, and behavioral challenges in adulthood. Whether trauma is severe and episodic or complex and relational, the impact can be felt throughout one’s life. What happened to you cannot be removed from your past, but you have the power to choose how you move forward. It is normal to feel confused in knowing how to address your trauma. I’m here to help you in your growth process as you cope with past and current pain and learn what resilience means to you.

I work with adolescents and young adults who may be struggling with the impacts of trauma in their lives. I am passionate about helping you in your journey toward healing and self-compassion.
