Dr. Gabriel Lowe

Licensed Psychologist | he/him

In my approach to therapy, I believe that symptom reduction is a necessary part of the process but is not the key to lasting change. The lifelong change that therapy can offer comes from developing a deep sense of self-understanding, confronting your natural human limitations, and discovering that you are more powerful than you ever imagined.

   Gabriel Lowe, PhD

Life is full of messy tensions. People who are supposed to be the safest let us down. The things we know are good for us can be the most difficult to follow through. At one moment, we feel paralyzed by inaction, and in the next, we can be flooded by thoughts. Sorting through these tensions alone can be scary, frustrating, and exhausting.

Whether you are suffering from chronic emotional pain or looking for ways to increase your ability to thrive, I commend you for taking the first steps towards therapy. At its best, therapy can be a warm place to affirm and own your strengths, while also being a safe place to confront and change the unhealthy patterns we all develop.

In my approach to therapy, I believe that symptom reduction is a necessary part of the process but is not the key to lasting change. The lifelong change that therapy can offer comes from developing a deep sense of self-understanding, confronting your natural human limitations, and discovering that you are more powerful than you ever imagined.

My therapeutic approach has been shaped by serving diverse populations across multiple settings ranging from downtown urban centers, immigrant communities, and suburban healthcare clinics. From my time working in primary care medical settings, I embrace the notion that living a full and flourishing life not only means healing from past wounds, but also taking preventative measures to build resilience and develop healthy rhythms of living.

Reaching out to a therapist is daunting and demands a high degree of vulnerability to entrust your story to a new person. If you are looking for a collaborative process and someone to stick with you through the hard and long journey of self-discovery, I invite you to see if we may be a good fit.

Bring Your Whole Self To Therapy

Our religious beliefs and spiritual formation are some of the most intimate aspects of ourselves. Being able to give voice to these experiences in therapy can help foster a more integrated faith journey. Whether you have suffered spiritual abuse and religious trauma, are walking through a season of deconstruction, or simply want to live more fully into who you were made to be, I invite you to bring your whole self. Together we can make space for your sacred story to be heard and integrate your faith values into the therapeutic process.
