DBT Skills Are For Everyone
The skill group will focus on the four main DBT modules: Mindfulness Skills, Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills, Emotion Regulation Skills, and Distress Tolerance Skills.
DBT skills are evidence based life skills that are beneficial to all who learn them. They help us manage a wide variety of difficulties that people experience: from day to day stressors to chronic symptoms to extreme instances of distress. Four subtypes of skills will be taught: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. The use of DBT skills allows people to focus on their personal goals and build a life worth living.
